Game and AI Camp 2026.
Join us in creating fun and interactive 2D games using GameMaker, a beginner-friendly game development platform. This camp is designed for middle and high school students (7th-10th grades) who are interested in game design, coding, and creativity. Through hands-on activities, students will learn how to design characters, build game mechanics, and bring their ideas to life. In addition, campers will explore exciting AI tools to automatically generate 2D images, sound effects, and music, adding a unique touch to their games. The instructor is an ASU professor with over 20 years of experience teaching computer graphics and game development. Each student will have access to a computer and receive step-by-step guidance throughout the camp. As an in-person camp, students will receive prompt assistance and support from ASU student assistants (TAs) in our gaming program within the School of Computer Science. By the end of the camp, students will have created their own original games and gained a solid introduction to both game development and creative AI technologies.
Cost: $1000
Grades 7th – 10th
